VISA®/MasterCard has notified us of a security breach which may have provided unauthorized access to some of our customers debit and/or credit card information. The information provided by VISA® /MasterCard indicates that unauthorized access was gained while transactions were processed through a merchant services network. Even though information may have been exposed, it does not necessarily mean that it was taken or that fraud has occurred or will occur on your account.
Further, the bank is working to determine which customers may be at risk for fraudulent account activity. Please note the following:
If you believe that you have experienced fraud on your account please contact your local branch or customer service.

Please be aware that some individuals have received automated calls requesting them to provide their MasterCard number, PIN, and expiration date. Once the customer inputs the information, the script informs the customer that they will be connected to the security department.
Remember that Union Bank & Trust will not initiate a call requesting account information. There is no need for us to do so as we already have this information as part of our records. If you, as a customer, ever receive a request for personal bank information via text message, email, fax, regular mail, phone, or any other method, do not respond and please contact the bank.
December 2008
There has been an increase in fraudulent activity directed at gaining personal bank information. The most recent scam involves contacting individuals via text message regarding VISA card numbers and PINs. To protect your account information, please do not provide any personal account numbers or other information to anyone unless you initiate the call or request.
